A.FBC was designed by Philip Karlhuber a Firefighter for over 7 years who served as a Recruit Firefighter Instructor delivering Physical/ mental
conditioning for numerous 14 week recruits courses. FBC has been uniquely adapted to give participants a taste of being trained like a Fire Recruit.
Q5. Do I need a high level of fitness to participate in FBC?
A.No, however it is recommended that you have a medical clearance and a basic level of physical fitness before attempting FBC.
Q6. What if I have a high level of fitness already, will I still expect improvements?
A.FBC is uniquely designed to cater for different fitness levels within the groups. FBC Instructors are experienced in meeting varied individual
fitness requirements within the groups by using team pairing strategies.
Q7. What is evolved in the FBC fitness testing?
A.Fitness testing May included the following:
Shuttle run- 20 meter set run between two lines, level reach recorded to gauge oxygen uptake level.
Push up testing- recorded amount over set time period to gauge upper body strength.
Sit up testing- recorded amount over set time period to gauge trunk strength
Squat Test- recorded amount over set time period to gauge lower body strength.
Sit & Reach testing- recorded to indicate lower back & hamstring flexibility.

Q9. What happens if I can not attend all of the sessions in my Bootcamp?
A.It is advisable to attend all days as all sessions are progressive and deliberate. Complete attendance also enhances the team building environment
and qualities of Firefighter Bootcamp…commitment! However if unable to attend a sessions Instructors will provide information for a make up
sessions in the participants time.

A.Yes! Medical clearance is important as they provide curial health information to instructor as well as peace of mind for the participant involved
that they have a basic fitness level that will enable them to perform tasks on Firefighter Bootcamp.
